Family Advocacy
Our Family Advocate Is Here To Help:
The family advocate is trained to help you through the process before, during, and after the forensic interview. While the child is in the interview room, you'll get a chance to meet with the family advocate one on one and go over resources for you and the child.
Assistance from our family advocate through this time of healing may include:
- Safety planning and risk assessment
- Assessment of individual and family needs
- Referrals for therapy and/or medicals, if necessary
- Education on access to victim’s rights and Crime Victim Compensation
*All services offered by the IM SAFE CAC are free of charge
Help Even After:
After the interview the Family Advocate will be there for you for any other questions you have the days following. They will stay in contact with you with follow up calls 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, & 3 months.
